HEPATITIS B IN PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEIR NEONATAL OUTCOMES. DO VACCINES EFFECTIVELY REDUCE TRANSMISSION

Hepatitis B infection during pregnancy can have serious consequences for both the mother and her infant. This study aimed to determine prevalence of hepatitis among pregnant women its effect on neonatal outcomes in a tertiary care hospital Pakistan. 120 were enrolled study, their demographic clinical data collected. The was 4.2% population. Infants born B-positive mothers more likely be premature low birth weight. Results showed that population 4.2%. However, timely vaccination significantly reduced transmission from child. In conclusion, emphasizes importance screening implementing programs reduce prevent adverse associated with maternal infection.
